Job Description

Job Title: School Secretary

Location: Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania

Employment Type: Full-Time

Salary Range: $50,000–$60,000 per year

Key Responsibilities

  • Administrative Support: Manage daily office operations, including answering phones, handling correspondence, and maintaining calendars.
  • Student Records: Maintain and update student records, attendance logs, and report cards in compliance with district policies.
  • Communication: Serve as the first point of contact for visitors and callers, providing information and directing inquiries appropriately.
  • Scheduling: Coordinate appointments, meetings, and events for school staff and administration.
  • Financial Tasks: Handle basic bookkeeping duties, such as processing payments, managing petty cash, and preparing financial reports.
  • Supply Management: Order and inventory office and classroom supplies, ensuring necessary materials are available.
  • Confidentiality: Handle sensitive information with discretion, adhering to FERPA and other privacy regulations.
  • Technology Use: Utilize office software and school information systems (e.g., PowerSchool, Infinite Campus) for data entry and communication.
  • Support Services: Assist with the coordination of substitute teachers, field trips, and special events as needed

Qualifications

Required:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 2 years of administrative or clerical experience, preferably in an educational setting.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Google Workspace.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information

Preferred:

  • Associate’s degree in Business Administration or related field.
  • Familiarity with school administrative software systems.
  • Experience in a school office environment

Work Schedule

  • Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM (40 hours per week).
