Safety Trainer
The Safety & Training Coordinator is a management support position within the Health & Safety Department, reporting to the Health & Safety Manager. This position supports the operation of a foundry. Applicants interested are expected to know the principles, values and behaviors of the McWane Compass.
Responsibilities Include:
· Implements and administers the health and safety training program.
· Develops and maintains training content, testing and materials needed to comply with company policies/procedures and regulatory standards.
· Develops and maintains a training schedule for all employees.
· Evaluates effectiveness of health and safety training and identifies and implements improvements as needed.
· Implements and administers the health and safety orientation program for new employees and contractors.
· Maintains all training documentation.
· Monitors and supports health and safety training requirements to ensure completion.
· Conducts regular facility audits to ensure compliance with company training requirements, policies/products, and regulatory standards.
· Provides direction and leadership for the facility in PPE and JSA management.
· Manages corporate training reporting requirements.
Desired Qualifications:
· Bachelor's degree in safety, Training Management, or closely related field.
· 1-3 years of experience in an industrial facility working in safety and/or training is strongly preferred.
· Understanding of Federal and State safety regulations and training requirements.
· Ability to prioritize, manage, and work on multiple projects.
· Proficiency in Office software and experience with managing web-based software.
· Ability to demonstrate effective presentation and communication skills.
· Ability to work independently and accomplish work without close supervision.
· Must be willing to adjust the work schedule as necessary to ensure all shift training requirements are satisfied.
· Experience in developing, managing, and implementing JSAs, PPE Assessments, and ergonomic controls is strongly preferred.
· Certification in OSHA 500 & 501 Courses is strongly preferred.
· The ability to prepare, interpret, and manage data is strongly preferred.
· Fluency in Spanish a plus.
