A client of Innova Solutions is immediately hiring a
Mechanical Fitter
Position Type: Full time – Contract
Location: Charleston, SC, 29401
Duration: 12+ Months
Shift: - 1st shift 6am to 4:30pm and 2nd shit 4:00pm to 2:30am
As a Mechanical Fitter, you will:
Responsible for:
Lays out, fits, aligns, and assembles prefabricated cast and forged components prior to welding, soldering, brazing, or bonding operations. Performs fitting and machining operations such as straighten, grind, burr, drill, ream, and countersink materials to close tolerances. Refers to general instructions to select equipment, set up, and lay out materials to be welded. May repair or rework parts to restore to required tolerances which have become distorted because of welding operations. May monitor and verify quality in accordance with statistical process or other control procedures.
Education/Experience:
- High School diploma or equivalent and 5 years of additional education and/or related experience; Apprentice graduate/ associate’s degree in relevant discipline and 3 years of related experience. May require certification.
Minimum Qualifications :
- Prior Shipyard Experience of 1 to 3 years.
Note: Employee will be working in a production environment and will need basic orientation, confined space training, fall protection training, and respiratory fit testing/training.

PAY RANGE AND BENEFITS:
Pay Range*: $40 - $44 Per hour.
*Pay range offered to a successful candidate will be based on several factors, including the candidate's education, work experience, work location, specific job duties, certifications, etc.
