📍 Location: Brookshire, TX (100% On-Site)

💼 Employment Type: Full-Time | Direct Hire

💰 Salary Range: $100,000 – $120,000 annually

We’re seeking a Mechanical Design Manager to lead a team of designers and drafters in creating detailed fabrication drawings for pressure vessels, piping, structural steel, and P&IDs. This is a hands-on leadership role with full responsibility for delivering quality, executing projects, and facilitating cross-functional collaboration in a high-paced, fabrication-focused environment.

🧩 Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and lead the mechanical design team from concept to final drawing approval.
  • Develop detailed 3D models and extract 2D fabrication drawings using Inventor, AutoCAD, and Vault.
  • Ensure compliance with ASME Y14.5 and Y14.7 standards, as well as customer-specific documentation requirements.
  • Drive design activities from receipt of order through to final delivery, coordinating across engineering, project management, and fabrication teams.
  • Oversee multiple concurrent projects, ensuring drawing packages are accurate, complete, and delivered on schedule.
  • Conduct internal and customer-facing design reviews and drive resolution of technical issues.
  • Mentor team members on software tools, industry standards, and best practices.
  • Lead initiatives to optimize design processes, documentation standards, and team performance.
  • Approve final drawing packages and verify compliance with customer requirements and applicable codes.

🎓 Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of mechanical design experience, with at least 2 years in a leadership or managerial capacity.
  • Expert-level proficiency in Inventor, AutoCAD, Autodesk iLogic, and Vault.
  • Strong background in developing complex design packages including ASME-coded pressure vessels, piping systems, and structural elements.
  • Familiar with ASME Section VIII Div. 1, AISC, SID, and OSHA design codes.
  • Ability to interpret and apply customer specifications, and develop associated documents such as:
  • Engineering reports
  • BOMs and weld maps
  • Installation guides
  • Operation manuals and ECNs
  • Knowledge of Compress for ASME vessel detailing.
  • Deep understanding of welding symbols, GD&T, and fabrication detailing standards.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work across teams.

  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and work in a high-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and adapt to frequent interruptions.
  • Willingness to work overtime when necessary to meet project goals.

💰 Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary: $100,000 – $120,000 per year (commensurate with experience)
