Job Description

Electrical contractor on a high-profile renewable energy project in Michigan is looking for a Master Electrician. Must have an active Michigan Master Electrician license to lead electrical installations for a greenfield substation tied to a large solar project. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to a critical solar initiative with competitive pay and comprehensive support.

Note: This is a 6-month project-based role with no guaranteed work beyond completion, though future opportunities may arise.

• MUST HAVE active MI Master Electrician License
• $58.79/hr. ST, $88.19/hr. OT
• Anticipate 50-60 hours per week (will occasionally work on Saturday)
• Hotel provided + $100 per diem x days worked (if applicable)

Responsibilities:

• Oversee and perform electrical installations, including 70 double crate poles, for a greenfield substation.
• Ensure compliance with Michigan electrical codes and safety standards.
• Collaborate with project managers to coordinate tasks and meet project timelines.
• Operate under your Master Electrician license to support the project’s electrical scope.
• Conduct quality checks and troubleshoot electrical systems as needed.

Qualifications:

• Active Master Electrician license in the state of Michigan (required).
• Experience in substation construction, renewable energy, or utility projects strongly preferred.
• Ability to work 50–60 hours/week, including some Saturdays.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Must pass a pre-employment drug test and motor vehicle record check.
• Local or willing to travel with paid lodging.
