Job Title: Fabrication Design Engineer

Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Fabrication Design Engineer to lead the creation of fabrication documents and support product development efforts. This role is responsible for converting customer-approved designs into accurate, production-ready documentation using advanced 3D CAD systems. The ideal candidate will bring strong collaboration skills, technical expertise, and a proactive approach to problem-solving in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Fabrication Document Creation

• Analyze customer-approved designs and project requirements.

• Develop comprehensive fabrication documentation using 3D CAD software, including detailed drawings, assemblies, and bills of materials (BOMs).

• Ensure alignment between design intent and fabrication documents.

• Validate production information (parts lists, raw material requirements, cut lists) before submitting final packages to the Production Manager.

Product Development Leadership

• Lead and support product development initiatives in coordination with leadership, Project Managers, Production Managers, and vendors.

• Contribute to the creation of prototypes, mockups, and functional tests.

• Drive innovation through research and by sourcing hardware alternatives to resolve compatibility issues.

Project Support

• Maintain organized documentation and digital files for ease of access by Project and Production Managers.

• Collaborate to ensure all hardware specifications meet product standards.

• Identify and resolve potential design issues that could affect manufacturing efficiency.

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field OR equivalent relevant work experience.

• Minimum 3 years of experience in manufacturing or product development.

• Proficiency in 3D CAD software; Autodesk Inventor or Fusion 360 preferred.

• Strong ability to interpret complex designs and generate precise, fabrication-ready documentation.

• Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to work independently.

• Positive, solution-oriented mindset with strong collaboration skills.

• Must be able to occasionally lift items in excess of 20 lbs.
