About the Opportunity:

Chelsea Piers seeks an experienced Facilities Director to join our Golf Club team. You will be responsible for performing and overseeing a variety of work requiring the knowledge of skilled trades to resolve facility operations and/or safety concerns. This is a hands-on managerial role that requires strong communication, organization, and collaboration skills. You will be expected to identify and perform repairs and delegate tasks as necessary.

As the Facilities Director, you will be expected to:

Maintenance Responsibilities

  • Identify needs for facility and equipment repairs and maintenance
  • Execute facility and equipment repairs and maintenance using multiple areas of trade expertise (e.g., electrical, carpentry, plumbing, concrete, drywall, and painting)
  • Inspect facilities, systems, and their components to ensure safety and cleanliness
  • Install a variety of items and/or system components frequently (e.g., cabinetry, walls, doors and hardware, office equipment, phone/data cables)
  • Fix and maintain golf tee up machines and other golf-specific equipment
  • Assist with all daily operations including picking golf balls and keeping the hitting bay areas safe and clean
  • Assist with intake of all golf club deliveries

Managerial Responsibilities

  • Manage maintenance team including assigning tasks, supervising work, and ensuring work is completed well
  • Maintain and follow a task list and prioritize based on the needs of the business
  • Manage tasks for special projects such as snow removal and golf net repairs
  • Assess that tools and equipment are maintained and working in safe operating conditions
  • Comply with safety procedures and recognizing danger and safety hazards and proposing methods to eliminate them
  • Collaborate with venue personnel, subcontractors, and vendors to complete projects and work orders efficiently
  • Procure equipment and supplies in collaboration with outside vendors for the purpose of maintaining inventory and ensuring availability of necessary items

About You:

You are dedicated, professional, and hard-working. You have experience with and are comfortable carrying out a variety of facility maintenance repairs both on your own and as a team. You will also have:

  • At least 5 years of experience working in a facility maintenance capacity. Experience in trades such as carpentry, electrical, plumbing, etc. is expected
  • Experience managing a team, delegating tasks, and providing updates to supervisor
  • Experience with ensuring safe working conditions
  • Experience at a golf course or driving range is a plus
  • Ability to take direction and prioritize tasks
  • Ability to identify necessary repairs and take initiative to resolve issues
  • Excellent customer service and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Ability to lift up to 40lbs
  • Ability to work flexible schedule based on facility needs, including weekend work as needed
